I buy these earbuds because I ear that they sound really good, but in some cases, you could ear a hiss or white noise, I bought them anyway expecting that these problems were rare, but when I receipt my earbuds I ear that hiss, it wasn't as bad I expected, but for $100 you expect mores.
After that, I send a message to the support service, And they are amazing, the answer really fasts and offer me a full refund if I wasn't satisfied with the products, finally, I keep the earbuds, the hiss isn't as bad and is only noticeable when you are listening content like podcasts.
In conclusion, buy these earbuds only when they are at a discount, less than $ 100, they sound really good (if you ignore the hiss, for me these earbuds shouldn't cost more than $100), and if they have a problem at least you know that Anker is going to respond fast and effectively.
The Anker Liberty 2 Pro is a top notch all around product. I would give a 4.75 if I could, with only the lack of control options detracting from it's overall score. With Amazon only doing whole numbers, I don't consider this enough of a problem to mark it down an entire star.
Let's start with the controls and get the bad out of the way. The controls are lacking considering the $100-200 price point. While the controls can be customized, you are only able to have a very limited number of controls at a time. I would expect more from this price point. If these were under $100 this would have an acceptable control scheme. All this being said, I do prefer the button controls to touch sensitive pads than many earbuds use. I personally find that a button I can feels makes me much more confident in imputing commands. Of course, touch vs button is a preference.
Now that the bad is out of the way, let's do the good, of which there is a lot.
Anker is marketing the with superior sound quality first and foremost, and they have absolutely delivered. The default settings have great clarity in bass, midrange, and treble, so I would say the dual driver design is definitely paying off. If you feel like taking the time to play with the settings or the custom ear test, I'm sure you will be happy with the results.
While these buds don't offer active noise cancelling, the fit and design sufficiently block out sound for my liking. I find than any noise above 1/4 volume drowns out the rest, so I don't think they need ANC anyway. This is, of course, assuming you find the right fit of ear gel to get a tight fit.
Speaking of fit, they offer more ear gels and wing tips than any other bud that I am aware of. It takes a bit of testing to find the right fit, but with 7 gels, you have a better chance of finding the right combo of comfort and noise blocking.
Call quality is also very good. Testing with family indicated that my calls could be heard clearly. Wind noise while outside was of little concern. I tried a number of sub $100 earbuds before buying the anker buds. In my experience, this was always the weak point of any set of buds. While my buds were good enough for the price point, the complete inability to be heard in a call lead to many returns. I am pleased to report that I don't have this problem with these buds
Minor details:
The case is in the large side, but feels nice. The sliding mechanism is a nice departure from the big standard flip top everything else uses. The magnets hold the buds very securely, and it's much harder to accidentally open the slide. This makes it much less likely that you will accidentally lose a bud from the case.
Pairing was easy and they reconnect every time I remove the buds from the case. This is true when using them independently or as a pair.
Overall, a very good product with only one minor flaw (the lack of controls). If you are looking to never take your phone out of your pocket, you may struggle to accomplish that.
That being said, if you can overlook this minor detail, then these are the buds for you.
Just got my first blue tooth earbuds... these r great! Great sound, good noise canceling... comfortable but u gotta down load app so u can use the eq, different sound preset, improved sound by 30 percent ... unknown on battery life.. will buy this again...
I cannot recommend these at all no matter how well they sound! They won’t stay connected and do a horrible job of switching between streaming apps “they’ll disconnect and audio will play from phone” they also pair multiple times I started unpairing after 5 consecutive pairs, I’m confused what’s the issue with that, and it has a separate connection for the left earbud as well? I really wish these would have functioned right because everything was spot on with them.. but it’s kind of hard to keep earbuds that don’t stay connected and dispute having Bluetooth 5.0 the connection speed lags really bad.. I might have dud and if I do I’ll be sure to update my review but as of right now these are trash.
I initially got a set of the Liberty 2 Air's, and noticed a very loud hissing noise.
I then returned these, figuring that the 2 Pro's would be much better, also getting a set as a gift. Both pairs had the hissing problem, though a bit less severe. On the bright side, the microphone input quality seems pretty good. For reference, I have a pair of Soundcore Life P2s that have never had this hissing sound (and they're nearly half the price).
After talking to Soundcore support about it, they told me it should only be happening with older models. After they realized my set was the current gen model, they essentially said "we can't fix that, and if you get a replacement, you'll have the same problem."
The ear buds are comfortable, weighted well, and do seem to have some real positives, but the white noise is pretty much a dealbreaker.
