Have You Heard of Soundcore?
I was hesitant to get true wireless earbuds for a while due to their shorter battery life than the wireless earbuds joined by a cable, but these ones have done well. They come with an app which allows you to adjust the EQ, assign custom functions to the buttons on the earbuds, and check the battery life of each individual ear piece (see attached screenshots). Each earbud has a magnet on the side, which allows you to stick them together.
One feature I love about these earbuds is the ability for me to turn them off outside the case. Most true wireless earbuds are designed to turn on when taken out of the case and turn off when put back, but there is no option to turn them off while they're out of the case. As a result, they lose their battery capacity much faster. What I do with these Soundcore ear buds is I turn them off and put them in a little mesh pouch, and only put them in their original case when they need to be charged. This will preserve their battery life for much longer.
My two biggest priorities when looking for earbuds were their ability to stay in my ears during exercise, and their sound quality. I've never had these fall out of my ears or come loose after rigorous exercise.
With regards to the sound quality, these sound amazing after adjusting the EQ in the accompanying app. Out of the box, these earbuds have an aggressive "smile" curve wherein the bass and highs are boosted to sound more exciting, which is rather painful to my ears. If I didn't have the app to adjust the EQ, I would have returned these. After the adjustments though, these are probably the best-sounding consumer headphones I've bought.
One big issue I have is the fact that you can't adjust the EQ below 100 Hz. The workaround I found was by first bringing the 60 Hz EQ in Spotify down to 0. Second, I went into the Soundcore app EQ and boosted all the frequencies so that the frequencies below 100 Hz were quieter relative to the others, giving me a more balanced sound. I shouldn't have to do that though; Soundcore should really just allow us to adjust the EQ below 100 Hz.
The app has several EQ presets by different reputable mixing engineers, and the one that sounded the most natural to my ear was the one by Darell Thorp. However, I chose to go with my own custom EQ, which I found gave me the most clarity, warmth, and fullness without being too harsh, nasally, or boomy. I attached a screenshot if you'd like to use it yourself.
- Ear buds can be turned off without having to put them back in their case
- Sound fidelity is amazing after adjusting EQ
- Capable of producing deep low-end
- Decent battery life of about 6-7 hours
- Comes with accompanying app that allows you to adjust EQ, assign custom functions to each button, and check battery life
- No way of charging the ear buds without the case, so don't lose it!
- Ear buds don't charge in their case if you don't put them in perfectly
- Wing tips on the ear buds are a bit uncomfortable, regardless of size
- Ear buds have an aggressive "smile" EQ curve out of the box; need the EQ app to sound good
- Can't adjust EQ below 100 Hz
Amazing sound!!!!! These buds are great and seals in your ear that all you hear is your music. I was double full on how uncomfortable the fit was and was worried about earbuds falling out. They sound great, fit in ear, and don't fall out. Get these!!!! The price is right!!!
Bought these to compare with lypertek z3. A little too much bass for me even with the equalizer which is extensive. Comfortable enough to wear all day but bigger and bulkier than the lypertek. If I could only buy one and the price was the same I'd stick with the lypertek.
Fantastic!!! Before I run through what's awesome about these, I want to say my earbuds don't hiss at all. Lots of other reviewers have written about a hiss at lower volumes, but I have not experienced that issue with mine.
Sound: This is the most important thing and the sound is incredible! Good deep, rich bass, but not headache causing. Clear mids and highs, great separation. Listened to some high quality music on Amazon and You Tube and it was like I was at a concert. Overall, a really high quality, enjoyable sound I can listen to for hours. Make sure to get the Soundcore app.
Soundcore App: here you can set you own customized EQ or choose from many presets. The EQ makes such a difference! You can also assign functions to the earbud buttons here. What a great feature and a terrific app! I also have a Motion+ BT speaker and control it through the app.
Connectivity: very simple and quickly connected to my Samsung Galaxy S9 phone the first time and every time after.
Range: Really, really good. I put my phone in the garage and walked away and was probably 50 feet away and no loss of connection. Also, when I put my phone in my back pocket, and started walking around the yard, the connection was consistent amd strong unlike older earbuds I have.
Comfort: very comfortable!
Fits snugly and stays in my ears.
I wore these for several hours while doing yardwork the other day. I've bought and returned several sets of earbuds over the last year because they weren't comfortable.
USB, type C charging. Really nice because I only need one charging cord for both my phone and earbuds.
I spent $70+tax to purchase these and they are well worth it. I haven't found anything I don't like about these earbuds. If I do, I will update my comments. As of right now, I give these my highest recommendation.
Buy them! They are a steal at this price. Right out of the box, they fit snug and well. They don’t hurt. They sound great. Good bass. The battery is very impressive. I don’t have a problem with them falling out of my ears when rubbing. I have 0 complaints!
